A Higher Order Reconstruction of Stepwise Enhancement

چکیده
In the last couple of years, there has been renewed interest in systematic methods for the construction of Prolog programs, for example (Gegg-Harrison, 1995), (Kirschenbaum et al., 1996), (Sterling and Yalçinalp, 1996), and (Vasconcelos and Fuchs, 1995). This paper loosely characterises the progression of approaches that have been offered for systematic construction of logic (usually Prolog) programs. There is a trade-off between what is accessible for practical programmers and what is clearly explained in theory.

Stepwise Enhancement and Higher-Order Programming in Prolog
This paper presents two views of stepwise enhancement, one a pragmatic syntax-based approach and the other a semantic approach based on higher-order functions and relating to shape and polytypism. The approaches are outlined, and the perhaps surprisingly close relationship between the two described. By combining the advantages of both approaches, it is shown how more code in both functional and...
متن کاملPortfolio Assessment and the Enhancement of Higher Order Thinking through Multiple Intelligence and Dialogic Feedback
The current emphasis on higher order thinking skills (HOTS) has inspired many EFL educators to explore the impact of merging different pedagogical teaching and assessment strategies on the enhancement of thinking skills. Responding to such a growing need to investigate the effect of diverse teaching strategies on HOTS, the present study aimed to explore the impact of the integration of portfoli...
متن کاملMultiple Intelligences, Dialogic-Based Portfolio Assessment, and the Enhancement of Higher Order Thinking
Abstract Controversy has not been yet resolved among L2 researchers as how to enhance higher-order thinking skills (HOTSs) in EFL contexts. Responding to the growing need to foster thinking skills, many L2 educators have recently attempted to investigate the effect of diverse teaching strategies on HOTS. Yet, few studies have focused on the infusion of Gardner’s (1999) theory of multiple intell...
متن کاملFingerprint Image Enhancement: Iterative Fast Fourier Transform Algorithm and Performance Evaluation
Fingerprint Identification System performance largely depends on the quality of input fingerprint images. High quality input fingerprint images are prerequisite for high performance systems. In this paper, we have proposed an algorithm of fingerprint image enhancement by using Iterative Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT). Iterative image reconstruction algorithms play an important role in fingerprin...
متن کاملHOSVD Based Image Processing Techniques
In the framework of the paper an improved method for image resolution enhancement is introduced. The enhancement is performed through another representation domain, where the image function is expressed with the help of polylinear functions on higher order singular value decomposition (HOSVD) basis. The paper gives a detailed description on how to determine the polylinear functions correspondin...
